A Strategic Location for Growth
The proposed site is approximately 40km north-west of the Sydney CBD and is located within the LGA of The Hills Shire.
Government has planned 600 new beds in western Sydney in this year’s state election, expressing concern about communities outgrowing existing facilities.
02.
Half of the beds would be included in a $700 million Rouse Hill Public hospital, a 300-bed facility previously promised by Labor in 2019.
03.
There are no public hospitals in Sydney’s Hills District, where tens of thousands of families have moved into new builds over the past decade.
04.
The area’s largest hospital, Norwest Hospital, is operated by Healthscope, a private provider as located at some distance.
05.
The Bureau of Health Information’s most recent quarterly report showed sustained pressure on emergency departments in Sydney’s western growth areas. Only 29 per cent of emergency patients at Blacktown Hospital and 41 per cent of those at Nepean started treatment on time.
06.
Growing communities from Rouse Hill to North Kellyville, Castle Hill and Marsden Park will benefit immensely from having this world-class, purpose-built hospital right on their doorstep
